Light up the night

The solstice sequel to my previous post about firewood : light, warmth, and crackling flames.

Some exciting weather was packed into the daylight hours. We've had about 8 inches of snow and sleet, accompanied by downed trees and power lines. A flash freeze is predicted for tonight. Brrrr ...

The fire looks wonderful. For years in my country home I kept a fire going in the evening and on weekends. Loved to sit by it and read or just rest.
Now in city home. No real fire just gas logs. Contemplating going back to the country and building a small cottage and I want a who is One Woman wonders can she handle the hauling in of wood. No shortage of wood to be stacked by my door as my woods are full. Anyway you brought back memories. Enjoy this time!!!
